Father's Day Tournament

Written by: Bill Thomson
Friday, June 12, 2015

While Father's Day is still just a little over a week away, our tournament begins today. If you have the opportunity, come out and cheer on our Wasilla teams as they play against the Fairbanks and Anchorage travel teams and spend some time with family. It is supposed to be a beautiful weekend.

I would also like say an early happy Father's Day to all you Dads! Make sure you enjoy your kids or grandkids and children in your life. Make time to be a dad, granddad, or even uncle; time is precious and it doesn't offer the opportunity for second chances.

Good luck to all our players and have fun!

On behalf of all the players, parents, coaches, and Board of Directors, I would like to take the opportunity to say, "Thank You" to all our wonderful sponsors. Through selfless acts of kindness we are able to continue this baseball program. While it is greatly needed and very much appreciated, generous financial donations are not the only thing that get us through the year. Donated time, labor, and equipment is absolutely necessary to allow construction and maintenance projects to move forward. These in-kind donations also free up some financial assets to be used in places to enhance the Ball Park and go a long way in making this a safe place to play baseball.

I cannot mention all of them for fear of forgetting one of them. I would ask if you have occasion to do so, please consider our sponsors first if your ever in need of a service. The list of sponsors can be found on the right side of the Home Page and/or on your Team Page. Keep your money local if you can.

Also, take a moment to tell your kids/players how much these local businesses and individuals mean to our program; a valuable bit of information for all of us to consider.

Father's Day Tournament Rescheduled

Written by: Bill Thomson
Thursday, May 28, 2015

This year's Father's Day Tournament has been moved up a week in order to de-conflict Summer Solstice Celebrations in both Anchorage and Fairbanks. This is a very recent development.

The Tournament has been moved up from 19-21 June and will likely begin the night of the June 12th and running through the Sunday the 14th. This also entails moving regular season games. Please keep an eye out for game schedule changes. Changes should be limited to Mustang, Bronco, and Colt divisions, but team participation and tournament game scheduling may force a move of a Friday Pinto game on Field #3.

The Annual Father's Day Tournament is an opportunity to show other leagues a good time in a tournament format. Participating teams are asked to support various fundraising events (silent auction) and assist in contributing to the meal provided on Saturday. Fundraising is necessary to help keep registration costs down.
